If your school has a Facebook page, you can use that page as your SkoolPool profile. There is no need to set up or maintain both. By linking your Facebook page to the SkoolPool network, you are now linked to our community of applicants, as well as Facebook at large and you only have one profile to take care of instead of two.

Thanks to a suggestion from one of our member institutions, and the flexibility of our programmers, we are now able to allow schools to move their About, Contact, Departments & Websites info blocks around separately on their profile pages (Interactive & Competitive Advantage packages).

We have just gone live with our new "Meet Future Classmates" feature, as of today!

73% of the 420 higher ed Facebook pages were general landing pages for the entire school. 14% were connected to sub-groups within the school community. 5% were for libraries and 2% were student unions.

Facebook Pages, the profile option for institutions, released a suite of new features this week, including a function that allows students to post photographs.

 

As I sit writing this pre-holidays blog update, Tom is putting the finishing touches on the very first SkoolPool school profile pages - which will be highlighted in Academica's Top Ten in 2008.

Through adding the Facebook Developers application (and being added to the SkoolPool account), many of us are able to clock in every day and check how many users have added SkoolPool - and how many have removed it!

SkoolPool is headed into its second week with more than 100 users in tow (our next milestone is 250!)
