Facebook redesigns homepage & update on the 'new' profile design


Just a quick note on my way between meetings, Facebook launched a redesign of its .com homepage late on September 29th, 2008.  The new design (shown below) uses much less whitespace, and features a new banner image.  Other than appearance, the biggest change seems to be that the public search box has been removed - although it is still available on the site, it is no longer on the homepage.

Link your Facebook Page to SkoolPool ..


If your school has a Facebook page, you can use that page as your SkoolPool profile.  There is no need to set up or maintain both.  By linking your Facebook page to the SkoolPool network, you are now linked to our community of applicants, as well as Facebook at large and you only have one profile to take care of instead of two.

Recovering from Conference Season


Like most of academia, it seems, I'm addicted to conferences. And it would appear that everyone wants to attend those conferences in the two-month window between May, when most students leave our campuses for greener pastures of summer employment, and June, when our own kids get out of school for summer vacations.
