Academica Group's research team examines how young people (aged 15-17) think about and develop career and education related goals. We have done countless studies in areas such as barriers to young entrepreneurs, employment for people with disabilities, youth employment and employability, attracting youth to college technology programs, and promoting college applied degrees.
Working for the CMSF and the province of British Columbia, our creative division designed and developed Perspectives, the first-ever interactive multi-media resource (DVD, website, and teaching modules) to promote PSE to grade 10 students. Perspectives is now being used in high schools throughout BC.
Perspectives offers a series of interactive interviews with PSE students, and is designed to work in conjunction with the "Planning 10" curriculum. Academica Group worked with the Ministry and the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation to research student interests and needs, script shoot and produce the DVD, develop the curriculum components and test it in pilot schools.
