Academica Group’s University/College Applicant Study (UCAS), now in its 12th year, has long been the largest and most comprehensive survey of post-secondary applicants in North America, providing key insights into student perceptions and attitudes for institutional planners and public policy analysts.
This year’s UCAS surveyed 155,321 applicants to 46 colleges and universities across Canada, asking them to take 15 or 20 minutes online to respond to hundreds of detailed questions about the institutions they considered and why. In appreciation for their efforts, Academica Group established 9 UCAS Scholarships, with cash values up to $2,500, and offered all survey participants an equal chance to win, to help defray the costs of their first year of post-secondary study.
“Academica Group’s mission is to work with post-secondary institutions and government agencies to help match promising youth with promising futures,” explains CEO Rod Skinkle. “Our research, including the UCAS survey, provides institutions with vital data for planning purposes, but assists students quite indirectly. We see the UCAS Scholarships as a more direct opportunity to make a difference in the post-secondary careers of these young Canadians, who took the time to share their thoughts with us.”
The 2008 UCAS Scholarship winners are:
