Academica Group is unique in North America: there is no other private-sector organization with equal depth, breadth, and focus in the education policy arena. Our research team has been providing policy-relevant research since 1996, originally under the name Acumen Research Group. We pioneered Canada’s first-ever post-secondary consumer research, with the University and College Applicant Surveys (UAS™ and CAS™), which quickly became an essential ongoing source of policy data for various government and policy leaders, including the Council of Ontario Universities (COU), Colleges Ontario, Canada Student Loan Program (CSLP), and the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation (CMSF).

We are committed not only to advance educational policy research, but to help push the agenda, working with government, agencies, student organizations and institutions to better understand and address the challenges facing higher education today. In recent years, Academica Group has begun working with government and agency partners to create curriculum tools, multimedia DVDs and e-communities to help correct misinformation, and overcome psychosocial barriers to PSE participation.
