How men and women experience college

News Date: Oct 15, 2008
UCLA professor Linda Sax says it's time to focus on the ways men and women experience higher education rather than on the gender gap in college attendance. Sax's research found women enter college with a considerable confidence gap, which can be widened should faculty dismiss the questions of female students. Sax also found that the presence of female faculty members benefited both female and male students academically. Another conclusion is that the influence of academic engagement is stronger for men.
